PM satisfied that Malta is out of excessive deficit procedure

Addressing a business breakfast for businessmen and factory owners, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi welcomed the official decision taken yesterday by EU Finance Ministers stating that Malta is out of the excessive deficit procedure.

Lawrence Gonzi said that throughout these last three years the government managed to lower its deficit in a way that next year’s projected deficit is 1.7%. He explained that these results fruit of responsible decisions taken by the government throughout this legislature.
