Prime Minister Joseph Muscat this morning met sharp-eyed shooting ace William Chetcuti at the Auberge de Castille. Mr Chetcuti recently shot his way to a gold medal in the Mediterranean Games. In training witht he Armed Forces, Mr Chetcuti is one of Malta’s top sportsmen.
The Maltese double trap shooter Chetcuti in comments to the media after his private meeting with the Prime Minister said that he gave a brief of his recent achievement to the Prime Minister explaining to him that it was one of the most successful event in his career. Chetcuti said that Dr Muscat had visited the shooting ranges in Bidnija some months ago where he had watched him train.
The Maltese shooter admitted that his recent enrollment within the Armed Forces of Malta has helped him tremendously in focusing and becoming more disciplined not only in his life but also in his sport. “I want to thank the AFM not only for their support but also for the wonderful experience during the recruit training process”
He added that he is looking with optimism for the forthcoming competitions namely the European Championships in August and the World Championships qualifiers.
