As part of the efforts to increase economic ties between the Russian Federation and Malta, the Maltese Embassy in Russia has been collaborating with the International Organization for Cooperation and Malta Enterprise since the beginning of September in the organization of a business forum in Malta with the participation of Russian business representatives from various sectors including banking, construction, pharmaceuticals, communications, aviation, and tourism. Following various preparatory meetings in Moscow, and as a result of the vital cooperation extended by Malta Enterprise, a business forum was held at Malta Enterprise on 22 October 2012 in which Maltese entrepreneurs had the opportunity to network with the Russian business representatives. The event was well attended and augurs well for future collaboration aimed at further enhancing commercial relations between the two countries.
The business forum – which was organised by Malta Enterprise with the support of the International Organisation for Cooperation, EXPO-MOS – was attended by more than 50 delegates mostly from Russia and provided the ideal platform to outline what benefits each country has to offer in terms of trade and investment opportunities.
Besides Malta Enterprise, presentations were also delivered by FinanceMalta, the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, the General Retailers and Traders Union, and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.
