New Zealand has become the latest country to legalise same-sex marriage.
Thirty-one couples are due to tie the knot following a decision taken by parliament to amend the 1955 marriage act. The amendment was opposed by Christian lobby groups.
The new freedom has prompted hundreds of gay couples from Australia to travel to New Zealand to get hitched, something that pleases the New Zealand tourist board.
